MRI ENTEROCLYSIS INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Patient must be NPO (nothing to eat or drink including water) for 8 hours before the MRI scan.
2. Patient must begin drinking Volumen (Barium Sulfate Suspension, Oral Contrast) 1 hour prior to the MRI scan.
3. A total of 3 bottles must be consumed (approximately 1 bottle every 20 minutes).
4. Patient has two options when picking up the oral contrast:
    a. Patient may come in an hour prior to their scan to the MRI location they are scheduled at and receive the oral contrast.     
    b. The patient may pick up the oral contrast any day prior to their exam at any of our MRI locations and drink the oral contrast on their way to their exam.
