PORT PLACEMENT

This is a sterile procedure. Wear mask and hair bonnet. Wipe down room pre-procedure.
■    Angio tray
■    Chest port sterile instruments (get from nurses)
■    DuraPrep (2)
■    Micro access kit (15 blade)
■    Sterile ultrasound cover/gel
■    Lidocaine
■    Lidocaine with epidural (get from nurses)
■    Bicarb
■    Sutures (get from nurses)
■    500 ml bag saline (get from nurses with sterile spike for bag.)
■    Pour in bowl and add:
     ■    Heparin 1000 units (get from nurses)
     ■    Tegaderm dressing (with gauze on it)
     ■    Ultrasound machine
     ■    Sutures
