VERTEBROPLASTY

This is a sterile procedure. Wear mask and hair bonnet. Wipe down room pre-procedure

■    II cover (Will need two. One is already in tray)
■    10 cc syringe
■    22 G spinal needle
■    Vertebroplasty kit
■    Vertebroplasty cement kit
■    Marcaine
■    Lidocaine
■    Sodium bicarb
■    Sterile mallet (nurses)
■    Telfa Barrier Island dressing (4" x 6")
■    No extra DuraPrep needed. One comes in the kit.
■    Pour cement powder into mixer so doctor only has to pour liquid in.
■    It is also helpful to hook the tubing onto the mixer
■    Nurse will bring back patient to prep for procedure and consent
■    When ready, place patient prone on table.When ready, place patient prone on table.
* Start timing when liquid is poured into powder mixture.
